Ever imagined of having a home on the high cliffs? The experts can. They have come up with the idea of the Conceptual Cliffside Casa Brutale; a beautiful living space covered with the earth’s surrounding high above the Aegean Sea. The engineers at the open platform for architecture (OPA) have introduced a study of aesthetics, structure and function of a chameleonic residence that is being expected to be built.
Focusing the landscape and the ocean, the home will be erected using simple materials. While the roof will be made of glass, having a crystalline pool, its bottom will be transparent to allow natural light flood in. The entire cliff-facing façade, which divides vertically, will be covered with glass to give maximum exposure of the home. Going fifty stairs downwards is a tall, rotating door made of aged wood and the remaining home states simplicity and harmony.
The home furnishings, such as dining table, benches and bed frames will be made of cast concrete, accompanied by other wooden furniture. Another staircase made of steel will lead from the kitchen to the master bedroom and the main floor will have a room for guests. This area also has a small corridor, which will lead to a bathroom and a storage room.
