Houses of the Maine Coast

What started as a simple gift from a daughter to her father is now a great doorway with an end result which is completely off the power grid that most of us rely for almost everything. Established on a small island off the Maine coast, the Alex Scott Porter Design in cooperation of her father designed a solar-powered home in the Ragged Island community. While no technology prevails in the island, Porter has established a catchment system for water, compost toilet and solar panels which help in the storage of extra energy to be used whenever needed.
