Iris, an original work created for Madrid’s Plaza Canalejas, is a striking installation. Iris, an installation by Brut Deluxe, an architecture and design studio, is attracting a lot of attention in Madrid.
The light of the eye resembles a crater when viewed from above. This makes the installation we see magical. Iris, the eye-shaped installation, seems to be watching us. The vivid structure of the work leaves a strange but meaningful feeling.

The installation of red and blue light strings is 9 meters above the ground. According to the team, the installation Iris can be understood as a close-up of a distant galaxy or vice versa. Red and blue RGB strings define the radial grooves, while various vertically placed light bulbs and light globes identify typical freckles, wrinkles, and other irregularities in the iris.
The installation covers an area of over 2,000 m2, with a total length of 2 km of red and blue LED light strings.
