Saudi Arabia has made a name for itself when it comes to unusual city planning concepts. The Line project is a great example that comes to mind when we think of futuristic city projects in Saudi Arabia. But now there is another project. It is named The New Murabba. The project is going to take place in the Kingdom’s capital, Riyadh. The city will have an interesting cube shaped attraction, a huge indoor environment. New Murabba aims to be an environmentally friendly city that will be sustainable and future ready. 2030 is the current deadline for the project’s finalization.
The Cube Will Be A Unique Landmark
New Murabba project aims to be a future-ready sustainable environment that uses modern technologies to its advantage. The city will have a cube shaped main attraction that will have a controlled environment. Cube attraction’s name is “The Mukaab” and mukaab translates to “cube”. This building will be the crown jewel of the city. The huge structure will be 400 meters (1312 ft) in both height and width. Residential housing, commercial places and tourist attractions will be inside this cube structure. At the center of this cube, a tower will be placed offering state of the art hologram technologies. Which will provide immersive experiences. The purpose of this cube is to have an attraction that is associated with the city itself, just like The Eiffel Tower in Paris.
Futuristic Design
One of the main topics of New Murabba is being environmentally friendly and sustainable. With the rising temperatures all around the globe and climate change, the city aims for less emissions and easier travel. An internal efficient transport system and an airport that is just a 20 minute drive from the city are few of the things they planned.
