At the end of 2019, the world was faced with a virus called Coronavirus. The virus spread all over the world. Occasionally, in a short period of time, most of the countries announced a lockdown. At first, the lockdown was welcomed by many white-coated employees. However, after months of lockdown, people started to feel of necessity to socialize. Although many companies change their work styles from on-site to remote, there are companies still going to work on-site. A Norwegian company Snohetta could not stand silent in the need for socialization of the employees. The company introduced a new seating system called Summit.
Summit has five unique modules. Therefore, you can assemble both small objects or larger seating systems. The modules have a multitude of levels, directions, and curves. The modules have warm and soft surfaces. The shapes are also so natural that you immediately feel familiar. Summit will be with you when you would like to create meaningful interactions with your community.
Where did the Summit Idea Come from?
The design idea of the Summit seating system emerged from the design organized by +Halle in 2019. The theme of the forum var Sharing. Snothetta designed a block system. The idea was manipulation and playing to form the right dynamic. The idea of the right dynamic was for a lecture, a momentary break, or a meeting.
Summit is simple in its form. It can become whether small staircase or a wavy ridge. Moreover, the area of use depends on the environment or group of people. As people can change the modules according to their desires, interactive furniture can redefine an area continuously. The seating system has great details in upholstery, cushioning, and stitching. Thus, this creates comfortable and flexible furniture. The users can explore and play with the furniture as they wish. For example, you can use the seating system while standing, sitting, or lying down.
