Sony Honda Mobility Inc. Unveils the Features of the Afeela

Sony Honda Mobility Inc. is a joint venture company of Honda Motor and the Sony Group. The companies established this automated company to manufacture battery-electric vehicles. In fact, the first car, called Afeela, was unveiled a few months ago. The company presented the car at CES in Las Vegas on Wednesday. The prototype of Afeela was displayed during the event. And the company will start selling the car in 2026.

Unfortunately, Sony Honda Mobility has not shared much detail about Afella. The CEO of Sony Honda Mobility stated that the car will help Sony with its expertise in AI, virtual reality, entertainment, and augmented reality.

Media Bar

Sony Honda Mobility Inc created the Media Bar, which is a screen displaying vital information like the weather, a vehicle’s charging status, and a Spider-Man promo. This screen is on the front and rear ends of Afeela.

Sensors and a 45 camera

The Afeela electric vehicle will become a technological miracle. Sony Honda Mobility equipped the car with several cameras and sensors, enabling the Afeela to become a Level 3 autonomous vehicle. Qualcomm, a producer of software, semiconductors, and services, will power the vehicle.

Media-centric Interior

It is not surprising that the interior of Afeela will feature support for PlayStation movies and titles. Sony Honda Mobility has engaged a huge screen up front, which will be the biggest screen ever on a vehicle. In addition to the big screen, there are two smaller screens on the right and left extremes displaying the rearview mirror feed. But, the rearview mirror may cause some trouble. Because some countries have banned these mirror feeds. So, Sony may make changes or be careful while selecting markets.

Just like their competitors, Sony Honda Mobility chose a similar design. The Afeela is kind of a mashup of other electric vehicles (EVs) for sale. Like Lucid Air, The Afeela has also got slippery bodywork. But the general view of the people is that Afeela looks better.
